Decorative Hand Painted Rosemaling
Ellen is our master "stroke" artist, an honor bestowed by the International Society of Decorative Painters, of which she is a member. She has written books, is on display in a museum, and currently has an exemplary piece touring Japan as part of the museum display. She hand paints the stunning rosemaled scrolls and stylized flowers on our vehicles. Rosemaling, or rose painting, is a Scandinavian folk art, most specifically Norwegian. To achieve the correct shape of scrolls and commas, the delicate outlining, blending of colors, and flow of paint requires much skill. Very few people rosemal, and fewer still achieve the level of skill Ellen has. Rosemaling is a stunning decoration on sleighs or any other horse drawn vehicle--wherever your imagination takes you. ã All text and images on this website are protected by copyrights.
